Getting Around on RGB Daily

How do I setup my profile?
Click on the "Settings" link which will have several areas for you to customize your profile.
If I need to contact RGB Daily for anything what do I do?
If you have an issue with a story or comments that you have found on the site there will be a link for you to submit a report. This is usually found in the bottom right hand corner of the content item. If there is a general issue you can use the contact us form to report bugs, general suggestions, PR inquires and things of that nature. We want to hear from you so don't hesitate to give us a buzz.


Account Management

How many accounts can I have at RGB Daily?
We use Facebook for identity. We feel that conversations are more meaningful when real people own what they say.
What happens to the personal information in my account on RGB Daily
Your personal information will not be shared with any third party and will be used expressly for the purposes of connecting with other members on the RGB Daily service. You can read more about this in our Privacy Policy. Your email address will only be used to contact you regarding registration, password resets, and major announcements related to service upgrades, and maintenance updates.
If I close my account what happens with my data?
All public data submitted to RGB Daily is licensed to the community using the Creative Commons Public Domain License. Public data such as submitted pictures, links, and discussion entries will be maintained. The profile connected to these entries will go into a locked read only state. The email address and other personal contact information will be removed from the account. It is possible to manually delete all profile data before closing your account if you don not want this information to be available after shutdown.


Blog submission and sharing

How do I submit my blog or news source to RGB Daily?
You can use the submission form which you can find by looking under "Tools" in the footer of the site. Submissions will only be considered by active users of RGB Daily in good standing.
Are there any guidelines on the kind of images I can post to my profile?
We use your Facebook photo albums to source photos. The images should be yours; profile pics are a tool to help your followers get to know you.


Commenting & Group Discussion

What are the rules if any?
We have some general guidelines that are outlined in the Terms of Service. Beyond the TOS the easiest way to go about things is to treat people how you would like to be treated and be respectful of different points of view. Also stay on message for the given topic, story, or group discussion.
If someone is being abusive or offensive in the comments what do I do?
Report them using the link provided, but only as a last resort. No one likes a snitch. On RGB Daily everyone is treated as an adult and free thinker.


Social Networking

What's the difference between following and a followers?
In RGB Daily friendship does not have to be mutual. When you follow someone they will have permission to communicate with you directly by leaving messages on your wall and photo gallery. You will show up in their interface as a follower. If they choose to they can follow you back.
How does my comment wall work
The comment wall in RGB Daily is hybrid communication tool that is a cross between a private inbox and public personal bulletin board. People that you have followed can leave messages that are initially set to private. These can only be viewed by you. You can choose to make these public if you wish by unlocking the message. Messages that have a lock icon in the upper right hand corner can only be viewed by you. Messages that you post to your own wall are immediately made public (unlocked).


Spam

What is spam?
If you want a formal definition of what spam is check of Wikipedia. At RGB Daily it's anything that is off message from the context of the current story, topic, or group discussion. If you want to talk about Viagra there is a place for that on RGB Daily under the health section. If you want to share a link there is a formal way of doing that in RGB Daily and that is through a story submission. Every member of RGB Daily is of course entitled to share the link that best points back to him/her in their profile.
What about submission spamming?
It's important for RGB Daily to reflect the best of the web. We take every measure to only add reputable spam/virus free sources.
What consequences can be expected from submitting spam on RGB Daily?
If you are suspected of being a spammer on RGB Daily you will loose submission rights which will effectively make your account on RGB Daily readonly. How long your account will remain in this state will be anywhere from 24 hrs to indefinitely and will be determined on a case by case basis. Repeat offenders will be have their accounts shuttered indefinitely.
